This Tuesday (13), students from Pan American School led another impactful social action by delivering 180 pairs of sneakers to students from Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Imperatriz Leopoldina. The initiative is part of the Basquete para Todos project and was made possible through a partnership with Vulcabras, the company behind the Olympikus brand and PAS’s sports sponsor.

The sneakers were distributed among students at the public school, serving not only as material support for the school’s sports activities but also as a way to strengthen ties between the two educational communities. The symbolic event brought together representatives from both institutions, including Vulcabras CEO Pedro Bartelle, and reaffirmed the shared commitment to inclusion and social responsibility.

Basquete para Todos: student leadership and inclusion

The Basquete para Todos project was created in 2024 as part of the Service Learning opportunity, which is integrated into the PAS curriculum and encourages students to design and lead social impact initiatives. The project offers weekly basketball lessons to about 12 students from the public school, aiming to promote inclusion, well-being, and new opportunities through sports.

The initiative is led by High School students at PAS, who are responsible for organizing the activities, planning the lessons, and mentoring the participating group. It stands as a concrete example of how student engagement can generate positive change and contribute to building a more just and supportive community.
